ATP World Number One award

London: Tennis player Rafael Nadal was exhibited the ATP World Number 1 grant on court at the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena here.

The 31-year-old Spaniard, who supplanted Andy Murray of Britain at Number 1 on August 21, has ensured the year-end Number 1 positioning for a fourth time following 2008, 2010 and 2013, Xinhua revealed.

Nadal, who got the honor on Sunday, has delighted in a stellar season, catching six titles, incorporating two Grand Slam in the French Open and US Open and two ATP Masters 1000s.

He is the most seasoned player to complete year-end Number 1 in the ATP world rankings history.
